HISTORY IN THE MAKING

1941 - The 1890 Township Hall underwent a significant remodel, including the installation of garage doors on the north end to house the Township's first fire truck. This building served as a fire hall until 1969.
1953 - A new Township Hall was constructed on North John Street, and the Township Library was granted a dedicated room on the north side for its book collection. The 1890 Town Hall remained an active fire station for an additional 16 years.
1969 - The Highland Fire Department decisively moved out of the 1890 Town Hall and into the new "Station No. 1" strategically located on the northwest corner of West Livingston Road and John Street.
2021 - Both Station 1 and Station 2 proudly inaugurated a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art facility, continuing their essential mission to safeguard lives and property.
